You receive the following error message or PaperPort 14 just does not open?
You can find a solution to this in this article.
Fortunately, the problem is solved quite quickly.
1. Press Windows key + R and put regedit in the Run dialog box to open the registry editor. Click OK.
2. In the left pane of Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ScanSoft\PaperPort\PaperPort User Preferences
3. Now look for the registry DWORD named BrowserSelected in the right pane of the PaperPort User Preferences registry key. Make sure this DWORD is set to none. By default, this is the system's default browser, in this case Mozilla Firefox.
After you set the BrowserSelected entry to none, the entries should look like above. Now all you have to do is close the registry editor and start PaperPort. This should now start up again as usual without any error messages. Restarting the computer is not necessary here.
